Asbestos Awareness Training

Asbestos has been used in the construction business since the 1800s and was only stopped around about the year 2000.
It was thought to be the ideal material for buildings since it contains fibres that are resistant to heat and fire. However, these fibres were found to be lethal when people breathed in the tiny particles. They become trapped in the lungs and can cause respiratory diseases like asbestosis and lung cancer.
Therefore, it is important that anyone involved in construction, planning maintenance and design of buildings are aware of the dangers and know exactly how to handle asbestos if they come across it as part of their work.
We have formed a partnership with the company, All about Asbestos, to bring you an e-learning course in Asbestos Awareness. All About Asbestos have over 30 years’ experience in the field and together we offer this e-course to those people who work in commercial, industrial and domestic properties.

Fire Extinguisher Online Training

Fire Safety Management

Where ever you work, there should be a fire safety protocol in place. Many fires can be prevented if there are trained and knowledgeable staff within the workplace.
Risk Safety Services are here to help you. We have a vast amount of experience in fire safety and control management. We can help you to set up a fire safety management plan that will ensure all your staff are aware of the dangers of fire.
If you have a business with five staff or more by law you must have a fire safety management system in place.

An Emergency Plan
The first thing we help you to achieve is a Fire Emergency Plan. This means that your workplace needs a thorough risk assessment in order to identify what could cause a fire, sources of ignition and the materials that could burn. Once you know what the risks are, the plan will help you to manage them.
For example if sources of ignition and flammable substances are stored together, they need to be separated. Heaters should be placed in a safe position, where they can’t be knocked over and avoid accumulating rubbish such as paper or boxes. It is important too, that all exits are kept clear and fire doors remain closed.

Fire Extinguishers
We can advise you about fire extinguishers, which ones you need for your particular environment. We will advise you how they should be used. Having the correct fire-fighting equipment is vital if you need to put out a fire quickly.

Fire Drills
We will advise you how to teach your staff to carry out your fire procedure and this will include fire drilling, which should be done on a regular basis to test that the staff are aware of the fire management plan and can safely and calmly evacuate the building in the case of fire. We will advise you on response times and review the safety procedures during drilling.

Ongoing Regulatory Consultation
Risk Safety Services can supply your business with a regular consultation with regard to fire management. Ensuring that you comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order 2005 and supplying all the help and guidance you need to fulfill your duties. Basic Legionella Management Training

Legionella bacteria have fatal consequences. The risks from exposure to the bacteria increases with age but anyone exposed this bacteria can contract serious illnesses. Legionella bacteria occur naturally in the environmental but are able to grow to large population areas within a very short period of time in engineered water systems. The water systems most commonly associated with a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak are cooling towers or evaporative condensers and typically those associated with air conditioning systems. If a cooling tower or water outlets create an aerosol or water is re-circulated, there is a higher risk that one may contract the disease.

Risk Safety Services is here to help make it easier for you to not only understand this important aspect of your business safety protocol and procedure but to help you develop a plan that works the best for your business. Our interactive video based Legionella awareness training online courses has been specially designed to help all employers to better understand and identify the danger that Legionella poses. This specially designed and expertly delivered course explains all of the important need to know background information concerning Legionella, the potential risks associated with water systems, and what can be done to prevent or control these risks. The course will help you to understand Legionella and how to design your business plan with that threat in mind.  Risk Safety Service offers legionella courses online for all types and business sizes.
